Welcome to the Official Website of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Indonesia

Established in 1952, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Indonesia serves as the official diplomatic mission of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Indonesia, working to strengthen the longstanding friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two nations. Sri Lanka and Indonesia officially established diplomatic relations on 6 August 1952, building upon centuries of historical, cultural, and religious connections shaped across the Indian Ocean.

Indonesia and Sri Lanka played a pivotal role in the historic Bandung Conference held in 1955, which laid the foundation for African-Asian solidarity and later inspired the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
